    Fees & Funding

Therapy can be funded through several pathways. Below is a quick overview of the most common options — if you're not sure where you fit, get in touch and we'll help you figure it out.

    Pathway 1

    Private (Self-Funded)

Most clients pay privately for their sessions. We'll always be upfront about session and travel fees before your first booking is confirmed. Depending on your situation, you may be able to claim rebates through Medicare or through your private health fund.

    Pathway 2

    Medicare — Better Access Pathway

    ✨ New — From 1 March 2026

From 1 March 2026, the Australian Government expanded Medicare rebates for speech pathology to cover up to 8 assessment and 20 treatment sessions for eligible children and young people under 25 with severe speech and language disorders, including stuttering, speech sound disorders, and cleft lip/palate. This $74.9 million initiative adds these conditions to the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) M10 item group.

Key Details (From 1 March 2026)

    • Target audience: Children and young people aged under 25 with specific speech conditions.
    • Eligible conditions: Stuttering, speech sound disorders (e.g. articulation, phonological disorder, childhood apraxia of speech, dysarthria), and cleft lip and/or palate.
    • Included sessions: Up to 8 assessment sessions and up to 20 treatment sessions per lifetime.
    • Referral needed: A referral from a GP, consultant physician, or paediatrician is required to access these services.
    • Rebate value: $82.75 per session.

If you're not sure whether your child is eligible, get in touch — we can talk through the pathway and what your GP needs to include in the referral.

    NDISPathway 3

    NDIS

If you're self-managed or plan-managed under the NDIS, you can access our services directly. We'll help you figure out how your funding is set up if you're not sure.

    Self-Managed

    You manage your budget

You pay us directly and claim it back through the NDIS portal.

    Plan-Managed

    Your plan manager pays

We invoice your plan manager directly. No out-of-pocket cost to you.

    Agency-Managed (NDIA)

    Not currently available with us

Agency-managed plans are paid by the NDIA directly to registered providers. We're not currently NDIS-registered, so we can't invoice these plans. Most families we work with are on self-managed or plan-managed plans. If this changes in future we'll update here.

NDIS travel is charged at the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements rate, capped at 30 minutes each way.

    Other funding

    Private health & EAP

Many private health funds offer rebates for speech pathology under their extras cover — check with your fund for the rebate amount that applies. We can also work with clients accessing support through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) where applicable.

    Common questions.

    What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for therapies and supports that help Australians with disability live a fuller life. Plans are individual and based on your goals.
Does the NDIS cover speech pathology?
Yes. Speech pathology is commonly funded under Capacity Building, Improved Daily Living. Funding can be used for assessments, therapy sessions, reports, and parent coaching.
What are the three NDIS funding types?
Self-managed: you manage your own budget and pay providers directly. Plan-managed: a plan manager pays providers on your behalf. Agency-managed (NDIA-managed): the NDIA pays registered providers directly. We currently work with self-managed and plan-managed families.
Can you work with my plan manager?
Absolutely. If you're plan-managed, we send invoices directly to your plan manager after each session. You won't need to pay us out of pocket or chase any paperwork. We currently work with self-managed and plan-managed families. We're not NDIS-registered, so we don't invoice NDIA-managed plans directly. If you're not sure how your funding is set up, give us a call and we'll help you figure it out.
What does a typical session look like?
Most sessions run 45 minutes of direct therapy plus 15 minutes of session notes and planning. We come to your home, school, or daycare. Telehealth is available Australia-wide.
    Do you charge for travel?
Travel is charged in line with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements, capped at 30 minutes each way.
